St. Pius X Wedding - Kara + Ryan - Lewisburg Wedding Photographer

When I first received an email from Kara regarding her wedding, I thought, that can't be, I photographed her senior pictures a few years ago. Well that few years ago was a bit more than I thought - she was one of my seniors early on, back when I shot everything on film! But really, that wasn't that long ago. Since then, she's gone to college, gotten her degree and is a coach and phys ed and health teacher. (I love reading her facebook posts about the reactions she gets from students to things she presents in health class, and I remember the yucks and eeewees when my health teacher taught us those things!) She and Ryan had their engagement session in the snow, and their wedding day was very, well lets just say it was on the warm side. They didn't want to see each other beforehand, but did want a picture holding hands around the corner from each other. While we were outside doing those pictures, Ryan handed Kara his wedding gift to her - a pair of Chanel earrings! I absolutely love her reaction! She and Ryan are both very athletic and when they told us that they were getting Nike I.D.s for their wedding, my mind started turning. We have never had a couple get custom shoes before, or actually sneakers, so we had to come up with some fun things to do. We used their soccer ball and football for a few shots and I wanted to get a few of them running. I got a little carried away with the sneakers, but when you see the pictures, you'll see why. Oh yeah, and the picture of their laces tied together with the wedding rings tied in the laces.... I felt like I was doing intricate oragami, I just couldn't get it right. Seriously, try it, you'll see what I mean. Thanks for letting us be a part of your wedding day Kara & Ryan - it was incredible!

Francesca's Senior Session - Selinsgrove Senior Portrait Photographer

We were so glad we got to work with the Damiano family again! We had photographed Francesca's sister, Gabriella, back in 2009 and had a great time getting to know her and her mom, Susan. When Susan called to set up a time for Francesca's senior pictures, I honestly didn't think it had been two years since we had photographed her sister, but it had. We took advantage of a nice day and did everything outside. And in true Damiano fashion, Francesca had a gorgeous smile, was easy to work with and just downright fun. Skip to a few months later when we were doing some interior pictures for a contractor, and when the door opened at the last location, there was Susan! What a small world. (And Susan has an incredibly beautiful kitchen, one I would love to have in our house.) But enough about kitchens, here are some of our favorites from Francesca's senior session. Enjoy!

Iron Lakes Wedding - Lizzie + Joe - Allentown Wedding Photographs

Each wedding we shoot is special and each can evoke one word when we look back at the pictures of the day. The word that comes to mind when I look at Liz and Joe's wedding at Iron Lakes Country Club in Allentown, is family. We know family means a lot to these two and we felt like we were embraced into this circle openly. We know Lizzie's family well - her brother and sister-in-law, Matt and Sara are two of our dearest friends, and we've gotten to know Lizzie over the years. (I remember a group of us playing a game, Apples to Apples, in Sara and Matt's basement the evening after Sara's bridal shower and it was the first time I had met Lizzie. But during that game, we bonded because we both had a slightly warped sense of humor with the answers we would give, and we ended up being able to single out each others choices.) Joe's family is Sicilian and there is a strong level of emotion and tradition and love with them. I loved that if something moved someone to tears, they cried, instead of trying to hide it. But along with the tears was a lot of laughter and plenty of smiles. One of my favorite moments at Lizzie and Joe's wedding was during the mother and son dance. Joe's dad, sisters and brother joined the two of them on the dance floor, then his mom opened her arms and motioned for Lizzie. I heard her say, "Come, dance with us, you're my family now." Things like that just make me smile (and I will admit, Jeff and I both cried a little bit with the family that night too). Thanks for letting us be a part of your family, Lizzie and Joe. We couldn't have imagined it any other way.
